Love Poem: I Wanted Her

I Wanted Her

I wanted her
I knew she was too seasoned to be innocent
Too treacherous to but trusted yet
I wanted her
With a desperate urgency I could not control
Despite being as transparent as glass
I refused to see the heartbreak that lie just below the surface
I wanted her
And nothing else mattered
The times I held her were like a fire burning out of control
That desire, that need, that obsession
Went beyond mere words
A passion born in the Devil’s own heart…Still
I wanted her
In ways I could not understand
A lust driven by some unseen force
Buried deep within the darkest part of my soul
I would risk everything for her without knowing why
Forsake all that I held dear
Merely to posses for a few moments
And even now
The price I paid
Almost seems worth it
And that is the scariest part of all
