I Truly Believed

Fantasies fly fledgling feelings, far beyond infatuation. For when passion's flame ignites, it burns with pure exultation. Hypnotized by your sexy smile, I believed you truly loved me. And my altered reality showed me what I wanted to see. When we'd share intimate moments, all doubts would swiftly slip away. And yet, you weren't honest with me, deftly leading my heart astray. An eruption of emotions exploded in abject fury. And facing an onslaught of hurt, anger became judge and jury. Stunned by betrayal and deceit, I'm left on the verge of a tear. And as lies muddied the waters, my future was no longer clear. Despite all my trepidations, I admit, I will miss your charm. And when I'm tempted to forgive, my broken heart sounds the alarm.
