Love Poem: I Traced Her Steps

I Traced Her Steps

I traced her steps
     to a pulsing tide
     where she had
dared the deepest sea
     to stretch, and hemispheres
     divide our love
          Upon the cooling sands.
She had tossed her hair
     to the wind and
     offered the chill
Her slender hand;
     in her footprints traced
          the last note she penned.
A white cap rose
     and sank in haste
     sending a salt-scented
Bliss,
     to tell me the answer
          to my last unfaithful kiss.
