Love Poem: I Surrender

I Surrender

I can tell you,
I posess the power to love you...
But even greater,
Mightier than that,
I am weak before I am strong.
Born into bridges of sad songs,
Lit up and taken wrong,
I am weak before I am strong.

But you are there,
At the forefront of my head,
I push you back from crawling forward all the time...
It's useless when you are so clueless,
To be in love and a liar.
Words cannot capture,
The feeling you get when your heart is on fire.

Our names,
They look like scars,
Upon arms,
Holding up heads that have seen the stars...
Crash and take the consequences.
Know the cost,
I am lead.
I am dead weight.
I would only hold you back.

Pretending to be asleep after night car rides,
Just to be carried inside...
In arms where I thrive,
Well I prosper,
Because you let me survive...
You could have let me go,
I would if I were you.

Please baby,
Tell me I'm not crazy.
Baby, Baby...
Please tell me you have been there too.
I've been locked outside for so long,
In search of a new point of view,
I was blind until my eyes locked on you.

You cut the cable,
Connecting my brain to my spine,
You shot me point blank...
I should have been mad,
But how could I?
I surrender.
I surrendered so long ago.
