I Ran But Could Not Escape

I saw him and I knew he was my destiny
So I ran but I could not escape.
He was right there.
He was talking about children.
Children! I was fifteen.
What fifteen year old wants children?
I NEVER wanted children.
He was persistent, which annoyed me.
I was totally not thinking along the same lines.
I was young, I wanted to live a little.
We became best friends; he did not relent.
We separated and went to different states to college.
I could not keep my hands off him over Christmas.
I had missed him terribly. He was my destiny.
We have been married forty-nine years.
I still cannot keep my hands off him.
