I Love the Lord - Psalm 116: 1-9

The Lord is so good to me
having listened to my cries
my love for the Lord goes sky high
all my life call on Him till it dies

Death affects me all around
holds me in allowing no release
so distressed but calls on the Lord
Lord, please deliver me on my knees

The Lord's so gracious, full of mercy
with the perfect righteousness of His own
coming down to me needing saving
no matter my simplicity, preservation known

Cry aloud to my own soul
to return to that place of rest
for the Lord is there so blessed
to know His love my ultimate goal

This God delivers me from death
taken away every tear from my eyes
keeping on my feet so not to stumble
God's near in my life living, makes me sigh!

(I love the Lord because he has heard
    my voice and my pleas for mercy.
Because he inclined his ear to me,
    therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
The snares of death encompassed me;
    the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me;
    I suffered distress and anguish.
Then I called on the name of the Lord:
    “O Lord, I pray, deliver my soul!”
Gracious is the Lord, and righteous;
    our God is merciful.
The Lord preserves the simple;
    when I was brought low, he saved me.
Return, O my soul, to your rest;
    for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.
For you have delivered my soul from death,
    my eyes from tears,
    my feet from stumbling;
I will walk before the Lord
    in the land of the living.)
