Love Poem: I Looked At Myself

I Looked At Myself

I looked at myself
In the mirror today
Saddened by the shadows
That refused to go away.

I saw my red hair
In a wicked disarray
And I couldn’t help wonder
How I got this way.

Then the door opened
And my son walked in
He looked at me
Then started to grin.

The greatest treasure
You cannot win
It’s a blessed miracle
Your heart will spin.

"You’re pretty mom"
He said to me
Then gave me a hug
As tight as can be.

It was then I knew
I held the key
To a valuable treasure
That numbered three.

Then suddenly he turned
And walked away
Leaving behind
A warm sunny day.

I looked at myself
In the mirror today
And I saw an angel
Smile my way.

I have three beautiful children, Missy 18, Mariah 16, and Danny 10; Both the oldest and
the youngest have......ADHD and hence have matured at a slower rate. But all three are
the greatest gifts I have ever received and I love them with all my heart and soul. Each
one has special qualities that individualize them and make them a treasure to behold! I
am proud of all three of them; and I hope they know just how much they mean to me and how
much they inspire me! I love you gang!!!
