Love Poem: I Dreamed of You

I Dreamed of You

One night fell a star,
a tear of ice,
from the eye of an angel
and enclosed the earth
a hydrogen mantle.

The world stood still
in vested prayer.

Cold axis spun
the globe around the sun,
dissolved the snow
without resistance,
I dreamed of you.

My shadow grew faint,
I slept in the heat.

I dreamed of you
in my evolution
from chill to warmth
and the sadness swelled
to court the day.

In spite of the sun
I could not forget.

You were not there
When I dreamed of you,
so let the dreamer
have his day,
unwind with sadness.

Denial forsaken
for this is the way
it has to be,
this is how
it is for me.
