I don't want to talk

Inspired by... Complicated relationships and feelings.

I don't want to talk

I don't want to talk
I don't want to fight
I don't want to work out
Who's wrong and who's right

Everything with you
Is always a competition
Instead of working together
You seem to be on your own mission

What is the point of us?
What is the point of this relationship?
I'm not interested in power or control
I'm not interested in ego trips

Our values aren't aligned
That's more obvious than ever before
That mask has slipped too far
Your true colours aren't ones I adore

So, I don't want to talk
I don't want to fight
I just want to get away from you
It's time for me to live my best life

I don't want to analyse
I don't want to try again
I don't want to go back and forth
I don't want to be your friend

You've had enough chances
You've had enough rope to hang repeatedly
I have to accept the facts about us
I loved your potential more than who you choose to be

Love is not meant to be so hard
It's not meant to cause such anxiety
It's meant to be a caring adventure
One where we grow and thrive

Love is friendship and loyalty
It's being there, a hug that's warm
It's being happy for the wins
And holding close through the storms

Know that I wish you well
I truly hope you'll find your way
That your heart will find its true match
And that your soul will light up with faith

Just because we're not right for each other
Doesn't mean we won't find true love
We can prosper and experience joy
By following guidance from above

And one day in the heavenly realms
Our souls might meet again
Maybe then the time will be right
For us to connect and become friends
