Love Poem: I Don'T Recall

I Don'T Recall

A dark void now envelops my
     saddened shrinking heart
that once was so filled with
     declarations of your love.

I don't recall when your passions
     evanesced... slowly, but surely,
or when that spark left your eyes.
I was working too hard to notice.

Like the burden of a cut dying rose
As it struggles to hold up its head
and its once vibrant beauty fades,
Our love has wilted, faded away.

It is sad when a couple once so in
love slowly drifts and grows apart.
It's even sadder when each of them
still has love left in their hearts.
