Love Poem: I Died a Little Inside

I Died a Little Inside

Such a terrible day
when you died my love
for I died a little inside
The day your life was swept away
in the surge of a massive landslide

Ten years have passed
where have they gone
is often a question I ponder upon
I wondered how I would carry on
without you here to guide me through
without you here what would I do

I still shed tears when least expected
You are in my heart and soul each day
I know our souls are still connected
I pray you hear the things I say

There have been signs I feel you’re here
inside our home my darling dear
These I cherish I hold them close
deep within my heart
I draw upon them
when it feels my life will fall apart

My days alone feel bittersweet
and as the years go by
Each day I live without you
brings us closer to that time
when our souls will join forever
as together they entwine
