I Could Never

Seeing you again
Makes me see why I stay
Hearing you laugh again
Helps me to hold my head up everyday
And even though you are with her
And you hold her tight often
I know now what I could never do
. . . Again

I could never make you sad
I could never make you cry
I could never make you mad
I could never hold you again

I know what I've done
When you reached out I turned you away
I know what I've said
When you said you needed me I told you to go away
And even though we both know where we belong
And even though we have reasons to hold on
I know what I could never say
. . . Again

I could never tell you what you've done wrong
I could never tell you what you've said was hurtful
I could never tell you how you are so ungrateful
I could never tell you how much we belong

I dont know whats wrong with us
Why we only hurt each other
I dont know why we are being so stupid
We belong together thats what the truth is
And now I've noticed that noone else would ever do
And now I've chosen to wait for you
I know now what I will never feel
. . . Again

I will never feel anger because you don't listen
I will never feel sadness because you aren't there
I will never feel pain because you see right through me
I will never feel Love because you are the only One

I will never again see your smiling face
I will never again hear your melodious laugh
I will never again feel your wonderous touch
I will never again be held in your strong embrace

         Unless, of course,
             We both wise up
