I am like the leaf
Blowing in the breeze
Whipped around
And blown down
What about me
No one hears my tiny scream
No matter how I yell
And knowing I am just a leaf
Means I am frail
Kicked around, swept away
Like yesterday's trash
Can't anyone see?
I'll be gone in a flash
I am just a leaf
Fallen from a tree
Does anyone care
What happens to me?
I am not stable
I am not whole
The tree let me fall
My innocence stole
And now I am dying
Crinkly and brown
Tomorrow no evidence
Of me will be found
For I was a leaf
But I am not to be
Blown from my home
