How's An Angel Supposed To Learn To Fly

Not all Angels
Need to spread their wings and fly
Some are sent here to be loved
For way too short a time

We don't blame Jesus
But we still question why
How's an angel that can barely walk
Supposed to learn to fly

How's an angel that can barely walk
Supposed to learn to fly
Will the teardrops on our shoulders
Ever get to dry

Or will the pain of what we're going through
Ever truly subside
If an angel that can barely walk
Has to learn to fly

Of all our heartaches
This one ain't the same
We all ask if You would take us
In exchange

Not so long ago
They crawled on the floor
Now here we are on our knees
Questioning the Lord

How's an angel that can barely walk
Supposed to learn to fly
Will the teardrops on our shoulders
Ever get to dry

Or will the pain of what we're going through
Ever truly subside
If an angel that can barely walk
Has to learn to fly

This constant sorrow
Of all of the unknowns
Is taking the life we had
Right from our very souls

Most Angels
Have to earn their wings
Don't make an exception
We're asking You please

Cause how's an angel that can barely walk
Supposed to learn to fly

How's an angel that can barely walk
Supposed to learn to fly
Will the teardrops on our shoulders
Ever get to dry

Or will the pain of what we're going through
Ever truly subside
If an angel that can barely walk
Has to learn to fly

I pray all Angel's that can barely walk
Don't have to learn to fly
