How I Pray In Flight

How I Pray: in Flight *** ( a re-write)

My husband, on alert
To any change in my every breath —
My darling, my caretaker, so
      Always concerned —
As you sit there across from
My perhaps sleeping, I wonder
Do you ever wonder, during these
Long hours, where I am?

Do you see how I have traveled
With my soul — far? Far.
Does the glinting line of my tears
Give any hint?
Does your heart call out for
Search parties
To trample, to poke through the dried leaves
Of my journals, then go on to investigate
Evidence of my years of unstoried flights
That I hope your soul will come to join,
To a touch Divine.

Prayer sends Glory’s tears to run over
    Onto my pillow.
Do not fear,
I journey far
Beyond valleys and mountains
In music

   — Leaving trails of breadcrumbs
As directed by the Holy Spirit...
So meant
To follow. Follow.
       — I am not here.

Selah.
