How Great Is Your Love

It's God's Word from above; “There is no greater love
Than to lay down your life for a friend!”
Would you take up the task (if an angel should ask)?
Flee with tail between legs (like the wind)?

If your life saved your child, would your death be reviled?
Tell me what if a girl disappears?
Man attacked by a bear, in the woods, would you care?
Can their loss not be all it appears?

If a thief robs a man? Do you help if you can,
Or express just your moan of regrets,
Invest time in the gym, thinking life’s looking grim,
And defensively pay off old debts?

Do you point then with pride at the one by your side,
As a proof of the love you profess?
Tell me where's Bible say, that great sex is the way,
And the wellspring of all happiness?

Sex is small thing like gnat, just a tit for a tat,
And imbued with more weight than deserved,
But to lay down your life, for a mate, for a wife,
Shows commitment with nothing reserved.

Just consider Christ's love, did it come from above,
If you could would you die to save Man?
Whether crazy or sane, Christ embraced human pain,
Love in Truth, He completed the plan.
