Love Poem: Hour Glass

Hour Glass

Time in a bottle.
We run full throttle.
Trying to catch what we cannot see.
Wanting and longing for what we know can never be.
He watches me as i move across the room.
His face full of excitement and a little doom.
His eyes are like fire in the night.
His hands scorch while they soothe away fright.
We know we have only a moment before the door is locked with no key.
They will come again and carry him out to sea.
We watch from our tight embrace as the sand falls.
Our love and passion is put on hold whenever duty calls.
His touch and presence is ripped away like a child from the womb.
But when we are together i am his to consume.
No part of me is left untouched or with out his kiss.
He finds my secrets as my breath is forced from me with a hiss.
He holds me close and shows me his love.
My hand fits in his like a warm winter glove.
He whispers softly in my ear.
He wouldn't want to be anywhere else but here.
