Love Poem: Hope

Hope

She left in the Winter
With the fading colors of fall.
As blossom mantled hillsides
Smothering life beneath snow’s blanket
We laid her to rest.
Sweet songs of sorrow echoed the air.
No comfort brought comfort.
No smile brought joy.
While barren trees stood watch over the sleeping land
She, like the winter, slept.
When Spring awoke,
And sun brought the sleeping land to wake
With every blossom she returned.
Each new bud brought her sweet scent.
Each sight of beauty radiated her.
Every breath sent her surging through me,
As memory tempered sorrow.
