Love Poem: Honor Age

Honor Age

Feeling young inside
   passes a mirror
      screams in horror
         who is She?

So to a defense
    with a cosmetic plastic facade
       in some shame game.
Lipstick coated, mascara bloated
   foundation corroded
      beauty?

The price of beauty can be
   caustic, corrosive, cancerous
and oh, to be so young as you feel
         not as you see!

Tell her she is pretty inside
or she will not embrace truth.
Tell her how wise she is
or she will have wisdom's pale
        shadowed pain.
Tell her of the beauty in those with age
or she may be battered and bruised
with a knife to stop time.

Change the gray? Never ...
     I earned it.
Plastic the wrinkles? Never ...
     I smiled a lot!

I am as I am ...
   Come ... Let's celebrate
       inner Youth,
          outside Crone!
