Love Poem: Homeless Girl

Homeless Girl

Everytime she comes around I see her faded face
And wonder how good she’d look if she just stayed in one place
How I’d die to put my arms around and hold this jaded rose
And deal her more highs than she’s ever been dealt in lows

Oh this homeless girl,
She loves the world,
But she loves me better.

To look in those grey eyes of chalk and see their set in stone
Her smile and begging gestures they just couldn’t change my tone
To hear the laughs and cries inside the pub as she sits outside
Leads me to a rendezvous where the sorrow I can’t hide

Oh this homeless girl,
She loves the world,
But she loves me better.

To me you could be who you wanted to be
To me you could be who you are
All the times when they call you out
But they find you all strung out
You know I’d shelter you from harm, from harm
