Love Poem: Home Sweet Home

Home Sweet Home

sometimes I scour at you,
sometimes I smile in weakness-
but there are moments when I
just can’t think of anything...
except your chestnut eyes.

minutes turn into hours,
and I am but a curved glass,
longing for its grains.
I have no fear when you are near,
I am no longer a willow weeping,
but an abstract maple full of crimson
and medallion blades.

sometimes I frown at you,
sometimes I laugh just cuz’-
but there are moments when I
just can’t think of anything…
except your magic touch.

temptation to be yours all night,
laying on the couch,
dreaming of what it would be like
to be by your side all day long.

you, hard at work,
me lazy reading a book-

but when you come home is when
I need you most.
with that first glace as you walk
in the front door with that smile
so charming,
is when I am at peace.
even though I have been at home
for hours and hours,
I am finally at home.
              home sweet home.
