Captivated by each other’s mind
Discussing, sharing, laughing
Oblivious to environment or time
She made him feel truly alive
To him she felt like “home”
What they found in each other
Was a wholeness neither had ever known
They were each others reason
Each others heart and breath
Their love and understanding
Possessed an infinite depth
He stares out to the horizon
His mind in another place
His heart and breath now struggling
As salty tears fall down his face
