So my life inspires and ignites
Love, passion, laughter so alive
There is a breath of praise
Within every prayer I utter
A spark of joy in every smile
Assurance that I know Him
In the shining glow on my face
Holy Spirit, shine your light
So my life glimmers so very bright
Illuminating the hope that is alive
Within one who knows your guidance
In a way that colors a life in hues
Of compassion, kindness and truth
Filling the moments with a sweetness
That causes a soul to shine like the sun
Holy Spirit, shine your light
So my life is a reflection of the love
That whispers and winds through my heart
With a serenity beyond my control
Encouraging, enlightening, reassuring
The gentle faith that comes from knowing
His grace is overflowing and shining
Through my thoughts like a tenderness
That softens the edge of my worst affinity
Holy Spirit, shine your light
So everyone can see the joy living inside
The faith, hope, joy and peace
The love that awakens my senses
With a light that shines up to heaven
Beckoning to God for the comfort
Of a naked twinkle, like a quiet star
That lingers in the darkness, promising
To continue to shine as brightly
As the feelings that thrive inside
Holy Spirit, shine your light
So everyone I know can see the belief
Radiating off my thoughts, my dreams
Fulfilling the visions of complete wonder
With creative messages sent from above
To the heart who is shining with a love
That knows heaven is the home for those
Who know God’s Son and live for Him
So that a life shines with sweet grace
Beyond anything that we might contemplate
Holy Spirit, shine your light
So that I sparkle even in the night
As the stars twinkle and glimmer
Remind me why I shine –
To show the whole world – my new life
A life designed to follow Christ!
