Holidaze

Holidaze

Shuffle forward from October 1st to the end of the year.
One holiday after another. Yet, I tell you… embrace them.
Do not be concerned about tomorrow, as it will soon be yesterday.

Play harder, sing louder, laugh as if you will never get to laugh again.
Time is counting down. Life is leaving us, one day at a time.
We don’t get them back…ever!

Make a list, a long one. Things to do, but not the ones you dread.
Take a moment to put in order, the way you feel…

Call a friend, tell them you have spent too long away,
Show them somehow, they have made a difference,
and you are glad that you have known them at all.

Make cookies to give away. Lay them in fine boxes with tissue and ribbon.
Unexpectedly, decide to send a card with a picture in it of your dog.
That will make someone else happy? Maybe.

Get things wrong, mess it up, make jokes. Laugh at yourself.
Don’t be mad for anything, and be thankful you don’t have a cold at all.

It is a phase, not a daze, a new way to live.
Be strong, love one another.
If it is not a holiday,
make up a reason.

“He” is the only important point,
to be made about…
anything.
