Love Poem: Her Mirror

Her Mirror

She loved him so dearly, and there was a glow
which lit up her face – a joy to behold,
for she was a beauty those years long ago.
Her mirror reflected platinum gold.

That mirror he gave her with silver trim
she kept for years as his feelings grew cold.
She tried to recapture the sweet times with him
her mirror reflected platinum gold.

The mirror’s silver, like love once sublime,
grew more and more tarnished and what would unfold
could never again resemble the time
her mirror reflected platinum gold.

Her soul’s been shattered again and again.
The face in her mirror, so withered and old,
stares at her sadly as she recalls when
her mirror reflected platinum gold.
