Her Lonely Heart Waits

Her Lonely Heart Waits
She longs for an ending to her heartache Out on the boardwalk she hopefully waits For day after day and year after year Pining for her true love to reappear. She'd come to love her man with all her heart One day he gave news that he must depart He sailed away with a vow to return He never did and to this day she yearns. With solace celestial bodies appeared To advise this lady and dry her tears They told her one day soon her Prince would come That she'd be loved from the first moment on. Sharing many hours of ecstatic bliss Gentle caresses from his fingertips Transcending her into a trancelike state From which she would never wish to escape. She wondered if it would for sure be so That she could find love with another beau As she turned to leave she knew she'd struck gold There stood her Prince Charming, just as foretold.
