Father God my heart is heavy today
Lord, this season the theme is pomp and cheer
Sad I am, but happy, I will portray
It’s that celebratory time of year
Perfect peace and strength Lord is what I seek
For such a disparaging time as this
My tattered heart Lord is immensely weak
My beloved mother I sincerely miss
I referenced your word to get me through
As my doting mother often advised
Depression moved in Lord, what do I do?
My face, dear Lord, I hardly recognize
Oh Father, only you possess the cure
Strengthen me, Oh Lord, help me to endure!
