Hearts Made of Wax, Sent Through the Mail

Hearts made of wax, sent through the mail
Boots full of mud, from hill and dale
Songs that don't sing, words that don't rhyme
Jungle that's wet, time after time

Time to go home but nobody cares
Darkness that glows from phosphorous flares
Face in the mud or they'll blow off your head
Miss you my darling - nobody said

Little river, seen in my dreams
Flowing nowhere, or so it seems
Pale moon shining on horses near
She's riding lead, I'm in the rear

Hearts made of wax, sent through the mail
Love on the floor, one single nail
Home that's on fire, bright ember glow
Heart was cold wax, just so you'll know
