Heartaches Song

We were back to back, you my foundation and solid wall
But then you stood up and left me cold, a leaning tower of grief caved in on me
How cold the world turned that day, that moment time stood still
There was no blanket nor any comfort thrown my way
I braced the burning cold alone and cried my heart to sleep
My souls fire dwindled and died, like a white out storm,
Avalanches of dolefulness came crashing down on my senses

But as the sunrise started its pulsing glow across the sky,
I realised that I couldn't change anything,
The hourglass keeps flowing,
And you couldn't turn back the hands of time even if you tried,
Life went on, there wasn't a glimmer of remembrance,
The sweet melody of our hearts lost to the morning zyphr,
The wind gradually took on more force with every passing minute,
Slashing through my hearts airtight arteries,
I was left numb, submerged in a roaring river of wreckage

Marooned at sea, my tears wouldn't stop flowing
The rain God heard my cries of grief and joined in the fray,
Each deluge tried to wash away the pain but to nought effect
Instead my heart got carried away with the tide
Tsunamis of bursting emotion, created a vortex
Free falling into a sink hole of precarious security,
I landed smack hard, down on the ground,

The incessant whoosh of the wind, circling my mind ,
playing through my opened heart, like a brazen flute
Each blow a sad melancholy sound called heartache

Broken and bruised I limp away, the sound of heartache humming to my gait
