Love Poem: Haunting

Haunting

The glass is shattered
And the mirror is broken,
It’s reflection forever lost
Never to be found.

I still hear your whispers,
Grazing my cheek with a ghostlike echo,
Reaching out into me,
Pulling me back into you.

It isn’t fair.

You keep me up at night,
The nightmares of no dreams stealing my peace.
I’m fighting with the dark
And the memory of its touch.

My flesh is not my own,
While your touch is haunting me,
Your sweet whispers taunting me,
I need a sweet release.

I’m scorned and I’m pained,
And I’m fighting my end,
With shatters of hope scratching at my skin.
There is nothing left.

Please, let me be.

But wait…
Sweet, simple silence from the dark,
No whispers,
Sweet simple silence…
Can you hear it?

A single tear drop,
That I have let fall,
Could it be?
I am mortal after all?
