Happy Father's Day From A Grateful Dad
To each of my children please know I love you.
If you weren't my children, I don't know what I'd do.
As babies and infants you brought me so much joy.
Playing make believe with me as we played with your toys.
Though I must admit changing diapers weren't my style.
But you each got me through it with your giggles and smiles.
The first time I gloved up when I made contact with poo.
Your mother raised hell saying "What's the matter with you!
I was always the bad cop saying, everything you must eat.
While your mothers were the good cops, sneaking you all the treats.
And when you did something, or a note says you've done wrong.
All your mother would say is "Just Wait til dad gets home."
When you disobeyed sometimes it would make me mad.
But it was hard to be tough, with you looking sad.
During those hard times when I needed a little shove.
Each of you motivated me by showing me some love.
There was one thing that I hated and just wasn't cool.
Was sitting in your tiny desk at the meetings at school.
You all were the apple of your father's eye.
If another adult dare touch you, they should prepare to die!
I can truly say that each you each made me so proud.
You all received compliments when we were in a crowd.
When someone else watched you, they'd say "They were just fine!"
I say "Let me see who's children you have, those cannot be mine!"
With all my love to each of you. I just want to say.
I consider you each a blessing on this Father's day!
Love Dad!
