Guardian
I asked the old wise woman:
Why do you always mend my broken heart?
She smiled and said
that your love for me is the secret of your kindness,
love disguised as
laughter, compassion,
patience during hard times.
I then left her presence in peace,
her wisdom warming my heart
and I thanked the sunset
for you still love
this ancient, tired soul of mine.
