Good Day For Fishing

Each morning when I awake, there’s always
one thing on my mind.
That would be, to go fishing on the lake, in that spot where
the most fish I’ll find.

The air is fresh and clean, and it gives me
room to breathe.
The only problem is, I stay too long.
Don’t even want to leave.

I meet the nicest people there. We’ve gotten to know
 each other by name.
There’s Ron and Cheryl, “Lighthouse Bill”,
Margaret and her sister Jane.

Ron and Cheryl are a true love story. I can only hope I end up
 as happy as they.
When he lost his wife to illness, Cheryl came into his life to
be there for each new day.

“Lighthouse Bill” is so good to see. He always has something
nice to say.
Smiling and chipper is he. Seems he’s always having
a good day.

Margaret and her sister Jane come to stay every year.
For a weeks vacation they pack.
They love catching catfish from the back yard, and then
 they throw them all back.

It seems old Eli has been there his whole life, he stands
on the bridge in the same spot.
And if you happen to be standing there and catch a fish,
it’s one that “he would have caught“.

The only dilemma that I am now facing, is the fact that
it’s getting darn cold.
And to stand on that bridge with icicles on my nose,...I fear
I’m not that bold.
