Love Poem: Gone

Gone

you wont listen to me now.
my words fall upon deaf ears.
the flowers are dying now that you picked for me
my bed empty; swollen full of tears.

i feel forgotten and discarded; even so,
you remain my muse.
i never meant to sour this love we held.
some decisions you never mean to choose.

you can pretend i don't exist now
and ignore when i insist
that some things even when they seem to be broken
can still be slowly fixed.

my sadness drapes over me at evening time
a cape of solitude and dispose
i long to unveil this uncertainty
and replace it with the vows we chose.

there cannot be an end to forever
i told you i would love you until then.
i keep my promise. i am still here,
just as i have always been.
