Goldie's Long Claws

It's the first time that I forgot
to trim Goldie's long claws that
damaged furniture and rugs;
the last time she was scared of clippers
and she hid under my bed. My attempts
were useless, her meows were pitiful
and I left her alone, but today she was mindful
of those long claws that made walking uneasy
and scared away my other cat Browny!

I had to trick her into getting a claws trim,
I filled a bowl with Purina's biscuits
and slipped under the bed without making noises...
slowly Goldie came out and meowed softly,
her fur was messy and her nose dirty!
" Oh, kitty, my adorable kitty, I'm glad
you have decided to come out of you hiding;
I have brought your favorite biscuits that you like,
how could you have resisted for too long
and kept away, and held onto your spite? "

Let me hear your sweet meows that I adore
and brush your fur full of dust and look more adorable
than any cat in this entire neighborhood;
Milly always thought her kitty was the loveliest around;
I'll show her who has the cutest kitty to show off
with nicely trimmed claws that once resembled that of a wolf! "
