God's Presence
Caught in the middle
between organized religion and the spirituality of God,
doubt questions God's existence.
Such questions can fester with time
and need immediate attention,
for faith fades into despair when rejected.
The soul and heart are ready to believe,
but the mind hesitates;
demanding some sort of sign
before launching into a leap of faith.
To some, the concept of God is inconceivable,
falling into the category of fantasy.
And that sense of implausibility
gives a downward spiral to their thoughts.
And yet, to others, God's presence is unquestionable,
and His love is both eternal and unconditional.
No one can attest to evil walking among us,
and yet, it exists nonetheless.
God's presence may defy reality,
but that belief is a source of inner peace and moral strength.
Faith offers hope, promising immortality;
a perpetual life after death,
and all one needs to do is believe.
