Love Poem: God's Love

God's Love

GOD’S LOVE

God cannot love me more today than He loved me that day
When He sent down His only Son, the price of sin to pay.
For He saw what I’d be some day, the sins I would commit,
And yet He paid the awful price in spite of all of it.
No matter what I do today, be it of bad or good,
His love for me is still steadfast, throughout the years it’s stood.
And now I am His child and yet I falter and I fail,
I disappoint Him many times and yet His love prevails.
I like the patience that He has--I often think ahead
To all the problems yet to come and all of it I dread.
I try my best to do my job, I try to live for Him,
And yet temptations come my way and I fall into sin.
I go to church and give my tithe, I give an offering, too;
I try to do the best I can to all the right things do.
And yet all that I do for God, be little or be much,
I cannot get more of His love within my life to touch.
For I have all the love He has, eternal without measure;
He made me and He loves me as His special earthly treasure.
I can sit back and think of all the battles and the trials,
The journey on my short life’s road and all its curves and miles.
And yet in all the change I’ve seen, the progress I have made,
God’s love for me has never changed, eternal it has stayed.
It’s more than I can comprehend and yet I look above
And thank Him just the best I can for His undying love.
