God's House

On the walls, in verse and psalm Quiet words reveal the long ago hearts Those who loved and those who yearned, Fears and thoughts burning into the wood, Tears and hopes turning black and old, Years and souls whispering light from the cold – On the beams, in rhythms and rhymes, Silencing the wind who pours over the pines, Whispering dreams into the shadowy darkness, Embracing the mystery of yesterday’s promises, Kissing away the worries, erasing the moon And all its dew, with a refreshing Son who blesses hearts, Sends hope through the silence and reminds – Where there is love, there is the assurance of peace, Where there is truth, there is a tender beauty, Where there is a song, there is a sense of pure joy. On the quiet stairs, where so many steps have gone There lives a gentle prayer, a feast of heaven’s insight, Wise and wonderful, coloring the breath in sagacity, Soothing away all regret – making each moment a lesson Teaching the heart what it means to believe… On the walls, in verse and psalm… Where there is this humble thought Forever, in a heart – is the moment when a light Shines through the soul’s dark, replacing The hard heart – with a tender and meek nature, One who just believes… everywhere, there is grace, There is the assurance that, through faith – Light lives inside the true Christian, light of love That reflects the wonder of our sweet Savior!
