God's Eternal Love
Through the highs and lows of our existence
Change may re-arrange
Our trend of random thoughts
Our state of being
And view of things
In spite of illusions
So much confusion
From battle and wars
From beatings and bruises
Reeling from punches
We arise from our falls
As we limp from life’s blows
Heart barely beating
Our faces; tears-stained
Spirit ragged and worn
Wounded not dead
We’ve walked through the fire
Tried and found not wanting
By God’s mercy employed
Unscathed and whole
Only one thing remains
Ever constant, ever steadfast-
My God’s eternal love!
