God and the Worm of Part Two

strange I remember the flames I was flying yet I hungered to fly
then spiraling burning death repented but the bird bigger than I
comfort came with one drop of rain as the deep seed burst alive
revived walking walking walking and now that we are talking
at the stalk to me a great and mighty tower
weary help me Lord it is but a small flower
Jesus thank you it is only by thy power
climbing the twigs end again and again
higher higher further from the ground a great height
resting on a leaf looking around a predator in a near by tree
I long to fly where did it come from fear of heights
a loud screeching piercing the ear Lord help thou me
look to me pick up your cross do what is right
first steps of faith traveling all night stumbling a bit
as I grow more tired along the way I can’t quit
the blackened bird dives talons close by but still alive
seems I’m spiraling again tired darkness even closer nigh
Lord Jesus help thou me rest for this is not the end
I dreamed of soaring straight above wonderfully with white wings
all things clean love joy peace righteousness forever a glorious light
thank you Lord Jesus thou has surely helped me
awaken go tell all others of this glorious flight to come
how to go denying yourself pick up your cross and follow thou me
