Love Poem: God, I Loved Her

God, I Loved Her

I gave her everything I had and she took it and ran.
I heard from her once
I still think she loves me and will be back,
But God, I still love her.

Such a beauty
With such affection
Her eyes melted my heart
But her tongue deceived me.

Between desperate love and uncontrollable rage
Hate overwhelmed me when she said I never loved you
Urges of fury consumed me
But God knows I loved her

Angered, I told her to leave and she did
And did not look back
She hurt me, but she loved me
This I know.

That I will kill her
This too I know
But I know she loves me
And you cannot convince me otherwise.

After a while, blood curdled around her luscious lips
I heard gurgles form words in her throat
Repeating her last words she said,
"I really never loved you."

I must renew my search for another true love.
But not before I send my sweetheart away
In her warm overcoat of dirt
I know I'm a good man.

She made me do it, though I loved her
For sure, God, I truly loved her
with a kind of lunatic love that eats at your insides
And drives you crazy?

HAPPY HALLOWEEN. Y'ALL!
