Love Poem: Ghost
Ken Carroll Avatar
Written by: Ken Carroll

Ghost

Apparition rising and floating
In a sweet mist
Of spellbinding perfume
She came from within
The nucleus of a star

Riding waves of music
Touching my fevered brow
Silently beckoning me
To drink of champagne and snow
To quench my thirst

She came to rescue me
From my abyss of sadness
As her voice sang
Flowers bloomed from rustic pots
With a scent of mystic violets

She whispered hauntingly
The message of sages
That I was a ghost myself
Conscience is the dead speaking
Lost love the ghost within

As she spoke of undying love
Slow death came over me
As I kissed her bare neck
Over and over again
Dying in satisfaction...
