Love Poem: Ghost
Sky Lesco Avatar
Written by: Sky Lesco

Ghost

Nights like a ghost
Creeping through
The bedroom window.
Terrorist to slumber.
Icy cold sheets
Against my naked skin.
But a ghost's hot kiss
Haunts me.
Cold and hot
Colder and then hotter
This is a game.
Passion dead
But a fire alive
This terrible truth taunts me.
A ghost is someone gone
But hangs on, like a jerk.
Its name moans at the moon
Howling at the how
How did this happen?
Saddest of song
Singing seas that divide.
Past is present
And the present is past.
Profound
Well, love thinks it is.
Your ghost is breathing
Is mine?
Highly unlikely.
Words can be a waste
Of what was once warm.
It's cold now.
Let them be like a ghost.
