Genghis

bouncing to be held
fury tiny ball of fur
screeching in yelps
how can one so tiny
explode into a mountain of joy

tail wagging as fast as the humming bird flies
hurt expression of worry in tiny dot eyes
wanting only to be held and lick my face
and dance dance around and round all over the place
silly little black dog
silly little black dog
jumps ten feet high
jumps so high you swear he flies
when you hold this tiny ticking bomb
your hug soothes him into calm
its hard to believe when we first met
he ran away afraid and unkept
but one day he sniffed my hand
and somehow we both understand
the dog picked me to be his man
and i accept him is my true little friend
