Love Poem: Gaslights

Gaslights

Love had finally cracked her shell
It let her out the cold wet cell
Her prison had become her shield
But once again he cast a spell

Secretly peaking from the dark
Tiptoeing to follow the spark
This path was all too familiar
Wondering when she’ll see the shark

The beast who shredded her young heart
This time she must be very smart
Like butter, plans were slowly spread
Before, her life was torn apart

A hole chewed and swallowed her soul
He had used his remote control
To have her follow his bright trail
A beautiful mind he then stole

Oh no, again, her light went out
Emotions flooded out the spout
Spun in his web so very tight
Stitched up her mouth to stop the shout
