Love Poem: Garden of Second Chances

Garden of Second Chances

There's a deepening feeling growing so strong
in this garden of love and it's taken so long.

The traces of something that never quite took
have grown pale and languid in this garden nook.

Love that drew disdain has withered and perished
and in it's place lies a thing to be cherished.

He rescued my heart in the nick of time
matching each rhythm with passionate rhyme.

Now love is what nurtures my soul and my mind;
what once was so painful is joyful and kind.

My garden is blooming and thriving you see;
since he and I became a we.
