Garden of Remembrance

And the cemetery was a garden of remembrance,
to honour those who left world, found a new abode,
And their families grieved, missed the loved ones,
with moist eyes, and their hearts entirely sorrowed.

She prayed for hours, close to her beloved's grave,
cleaned the fallen leaves, cleared the tousled vines,
She let those tears fall and found them hard to save,
yet again she recalled that fatal day, and his last lines.

Beside her beloved's grave, plucked the only flower,
and kissed it with her closed eyes, felt the fragrance,
She believed the rose carried the smile of her lover,
and he watched her from above, she felt his presence.

Before she left his cold grave, one last time she cried,
why destiny had snatched him untimely, she sighed,
She never got a chance in life to be his wedded bride,
the cemetery had many stories of love buried inside.
