Love Poem: Future

Future

You take my hard deep within your palms-
squishing, clamping, shut.
Like stressball-without reconstruction
and I'm just left on the ground.
This little game-
almost manipulating-
resonates and punctures my heart
twice a game, once a truth
now a circular pattern.
Puzzle pieces never seemed to have fit-
they're mix-matched-
don't act surprised-
taking each token as pride when you see-
my eyes hidden beneath the cries.
You've unravelled my vulnerability
stripped my strength
while I fall,
so much worry,
so much care
so much of everything I wish I had in return
so much of you I'll never have
but forever keep hoping for
