From the One I Adore

She told me to dance,
yet I said, "No."
She said take a chance,
I said I was too slow.
She bent and kissed my lips,
she told me she loved me.
I watch the stars as her hand slips,
into the growing void we see.
I said nothing to this girl,
I said nothing for I was afraid.
Could I tell her she was my world?
Could I tell her and watch her fade?
She's shown me signs,
I showed no emotion.
If I crossed the world to find,
would she wait below the ocean?
Her dark hair wraps around me,
I can't bear to tell her I'm suffocating.
This emotionless corpse she cannot see.
Yet she knows I'm waiting,
Oh, you chose the latter choice,
there is nothing left to say.
I'm forever losing your voice,
yet you aren't that far away.
Take this romance,
take away your smile.
I'll take your hand to dance,
and dismiss all that is vile.
Forever waiting for that kiss,
from the one I adore.
If I wait, this chance I'll miss.
Well, what am I waiting for?
I take my bow, and she asked, "What now?"
