From a Distance
I’m in awe at the way you make me forget the world around me.
When you reach out and touch me tenderly, softly, is almost more than I can take.
That sparkle in your eyes when I see you, makes me melt.
Laying in your arms, feeling your breath on my skin, what a delight.
With hungry lips you kiss me, kissing you, and the passion and desire so fragile.
Me loving you, you afraid to get wrapped up in the one thing that feels so good to you.
Knowing this I can’t help myself when it comes to you.
One day I will know the reason why I was the lucky one.
The one who gets close to you.
I’ve never let myself go where I go with you, physically or emotionally.
I suppose I was afraid of heartache if I let my defenses down.
Then along came you, and changed everything.
And what a wonderful gift you are.
I don’t think you will ever love me the way I love you.
But I am sure of one thing,
You will love me in your own special way.
I couldn’t ask for more.
I love being with you, holding you, kissing you, making love to you.
Knowing I affect you almost as much as you affect me.
What we have is so very dear, and special to me.
And from a distance, I will continue to love you.
